
Laadli Laxmi Scheme
This scheme can be applied for through the Directorate of Women & Child Development in Goa. Village Panchayats assist applicants by verifying residency and income documents, guiding form filling, and forwarding applications to the state department.
Documents Required
- Self-Certified Copy of Birth Certificate, including the previous School Leaving Certificate and the current Bonafide Student Certificate issued by a recognized Educational Institute in which the girl is presently.
- Self-Certified Copy of Ration Card
- Self-Certified Copy of Election Card
- Self-Certified Copy of Aadhaar Card
- Self-Certified Copy of Resident Certificate (as applicable) issued by the Mamlatdar
- Self-Certified Copy of Civil Marriage Registration Certificate (Which may also include the first registration certificate) if any, along with
invitation card. - Affidavit on Rs. 50 Stamp Paper or with a Special Adhesive stamp in the prescribed form from Annexure II
- Pre-Receipt with Revenue stamp (in duplicate) in the prescribed form.
- Residence Certificate of Parent issued by Mamlatdar (15 yrs)
- Birth Certificate of Parent
- 2 Passport Size Photos
- Marriage Certificate of Parents

The Laadli Laxmi Scheme was launched by the Government of Goa on July 6, 2012, as a flagship program of the Department of Women & Child Development with the aim to financially empower girl children and improve the female sex ratio in the state. The scheme seeks to change societal perceptions about the girl child by providing financial support to eligible girls, making them self-reliant and independent.
Under this scheme:
- A one-time financial assistance of ₹1,00,000 is provided to eligible girl beneficiaries at two key stages:
- When the girl attains the age of 18 years, paid as a fixed deposit jointly in the name of the girl and the Director of Women and Child Development.
- When the girl gets married, direct cash payment of ₹1,00,000).
- The fixed deposit amount is renewable annually, along with accrued interest till the girl claims it for higher studies, starting a business, pursuing a profession, or at the time of marriage (if claimed at 18 years).
Eligibility criteria include:
- Girl must be born in Goa or be a resident of Goa for at least 15 years.
- At least one parent should be a resident of Goa for minimum 15 or 25 years as per specific conditions.
- Family income should not exceed ₹3,00,000 per annum.
- The application must be made within 6 months of marriage for married beneficiaries aged 19 to 45 years.
